Centerville Kid's Ministry

Centerville's  Kid's ministry is founded on Deuteronomy 6:4-9.  We want to partner with our families to raise children to love the Lord with all their hearts and to live each day focused on Him.  We know that parents and family are the primary spiritual teachers of their children.  Our curriculum choices, program offerings, and fun activities are intended to be tools for parents and family in their daily efforts to raise mission-minded, God-seekers.

Events through the year

We love to talk about Jesus, and also to play and have fun together!  We have a wide variety of activities we do throughout the year.  

Bible Bowl

We spend a few months immersed in a chosen part of the Bible every year.  In the  spring we get together with several churches from West Virginia and Ohio to take part in a friendly competition.  

Leadership Training For Christ

Our kids have a blast participating in a myriad of ways to further the kingdom of God.  Whether they practice song leading, participate in a puppet show or drama group, they grow closer to God and the youth group.   

Resurrection Celebration

Depending on the year, we will celebrate Jesus' death and resurrection in a meaningful way.  No matter what we do, we aim to glorify Christ as we grow closer to him.  

Easter Egg Hunt

We love to throw in some CANDY and have an egg hunt for the kids!

Terrific Tuesday

Every Tuesday in the summer we get together and have fun!  Often we will have a devotional, get messy outside, and have a snack.  

Fort Hill

Fort Hill Christian Camp is in Hillsboro Ohio.  Kids look forward to camp all year long!  Worship, games, Bible classes, and nature draw the kids closer to God and each other.  

VBS

Every year we have Vacation Bible School in July.  We have a blast worshiping and learning about God in a new way.  

Multi Generational Activities

We love hanging out with all ages at church.  We have game days, meals, root groups and enjoy doing life with each other and learning together.  

Trunk or Treat

A fun time to get more candy and dress up!

Polar Express

Parents get to go Christmas shopping (or a date, or nap!) while their kids hang out with the youth group and teachers.  They will watch a movie, do some crafts and have hot chocolate and popcorn!

Gingerbread Bash

Gingerbread bash is a fun way to celebrate Jesus coming to earth as a baby in order to save us!  

Bible Classes

We have engaging classes for all ages on Sunday mornings!  

Safety

At Centerville, the safety of our children is of upmost importance.  We maintain a comprehensive safety plan, ensure all teachers and volunteers undergo thorough background checks, and require rigorous safety training .  If you have questions, please contact Pete Lakes or Bethany Culbertson.  

I'm Bethany!  I am a Jesus follower, who loves teaching kids about Jesus!  Jared and I have been married for over 20 years, and we have four amazing kids, one goofy golden retriever and three cats.  I have loved children's ministry since middle school, when I was part of an amazing teacher training program at my church in Houston, Texas.   I have a BA from Harding University in Elementary Education.  Teaching kids about Jesus is the best job I can imagine!
